Until May 8, Parisians will be able to enjoy the best of Peruvian fashion, design, alpaca fiber and handicrafts.
The famous French department store Printemps, located on Boulevard Haussmann, which houses the leading luxury, beauty and fashion brands, has been filled with Peruvianity. Thanks to the Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ), through its commercial office in France, the prestigious store has - until May 8 - a space dedicated to Peruvian design and fashion.
The Peruvian space inside Printemps Haussmann - which has the format of a pop-up store - recreates a market called “Peru loves you” in the temple of fashion, heart of Paris. The goal is to captivate Parisians and French people.
This is a collaboration with local brands to be able to showcase the best of our independent design pieces, including fashion, accessories, decoration, crafts and music. This staging was achieved thanks to the support of the internationally renowned Franco-Peruvian brand DNI, belonging to the brothers Paulo and Roberto Ruíz Muñoz.
The space houses 24 Peruvian artisans and creators, and promotes the Alpaca del Perú brand. Among the participating exhibiting brands are Ana G by designer Ana Maria Guiulfo; designer Denise Debakey's handbags; Theodore Herald's luxury men's fashion brand; Tale Design with its tapestries and blankets; La Maison Péruvienne; handicraft brands such as Taller Sumaq Urpi Araujo and Alfredo Lopez Morales; as well as brands of household items such as La bañista y Herbario; and Kuyay chocolate.
Peru is a country with a rich history, an ancient textile culture, unique handicrafts and goldsmithing of unparalleled beauty. This type of event allows us to spread Peruvian art, design and talent. Therefore, it is an important part of the promotion strategy of PROMPERÚ's commercial offices around the world.
