Basic information

Asparagus is a native vegetable of the Mediterranean. In Peru dates from years 50, when asparagus was cultivated in Virú Valley, soon arrived at other valleys in Ica region, where production increased considerably. Peru is world's first largest asparagus exporter today.

Human health benefits

Asparragus contains large amount of fiber, which makes it very suitable in chronic constipation. It has diuretic action so it is recommended in cases of hypertension or edema. Asparagus is one of the main sources of glutathione. This nutrient has the property of helping the immune system and recycling antioxidants.
